Medical Imaging Receptionist - Clinic Coordinator

 JOB SUMMARY

Busy and expanding Diagnostic Imaging Clinic looking for a dynamic individual to assist in growing the business to the next level. The Clinic Coordinator is responsible for overseeing the daily operations and other reception staff, ensuring all essential tasks are completed. Under the general supervision of management, the Clinic Coordinator is responsible for the delivery of quality customer service, office communication, information storage and retrieval, services to patients and staff by performing related reception and clerical duties. They will communicate regularly with the management team to report any deficiencies or areas of improvement.


PATIENT SERVICES

  • Greets patients promptly and courteously on arrival.
  • Ensures patient information is recorded accurately into the computer, collecting all relevant information.
  • Schedules and confirms patient appointments and obtains/provides required information. Checks-in patients on arrival.
  • Receives telephone calls from referrals and patients and ensures correct booking procedures are followed.
  • Confirms appointments.
  • Must dress professional and have great communication skills
  • Experience is a must
  • Able to lead a team of receptionist and demonstrate good leadership skills

GENERAL CLERICAL SUPPORT

  • Provides reception and office duties by answering telephone calls, receiving faxes and receiving office visitors. Provides general information regarding services. Notes and relays messages to all staff and Radiologists and initiates necessary action related to incoming calls, faxes and visitors. Presents a positive and professional public image of the company at all times. Supports service delivery.
  • Receives, sorts and sends out information including email, courier deliveries, faxes and clinical reports.
  • Ensures all daily tasks are being completed.
  • Provides office support to staff and management by assisting with the use of office equipment and computer software. Prepares written materials as required by photocopying, faxing and filing.
  • Process report/imaging exam requests and document results.
  • Communicates with co-workers to promote efficiency.
  • Performs other related duties as requested.
  • Clean & Disinfect waiting area and other areas as per Ministry Guidelines
  • Ability to improve workflow and show aptitude in increasing productivity while improving a better working environment.
  • Ability to take direction from the Clinic Managers


QUALIFICATIONS

  • Minimum 5 years experience working in a health-related field, or in a coordinating/management role.
  • Office management course or experience essential.
  • Clerical and related computer systems courses/certificates or equivalent training and experience.
  • Experience working with computer software with demonstrated ability for attention to detail.
  • Excellent demonstrated/referenced skills in both verbal and written English, including grammar.
  • Demonstrated ability to respond to the public in a pleasant manner in all types of situations.
  • Physically able to perform the duties of the position.
  • Experience with Quickbooks, RIS & PACS are an asset

Diagnostic Medical Sonographer

Job description


POSITIONS: Part Time

HOURS OF WORK: Evenings and weekends

DESCRIPTION: Under the direction of the Medical Director and Clinical Services Director, will be responsible for ultrasound scanning of patients in this state of the art imaging centre. Will be accountable for contributing to the delivery of the highest quality care, in a patient centered environment. Will have the opportunity to continue learning and advancing your skills in a supportive environment. As part of an urgent imaging center you will have the opportunity to image complex and urgent pathology on an ongoing basis.


PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES AND ABILITIES: (representative but not all inclusive)

  • Must be able to work efficiently and independently
  • Prepare and explain ultrasound procedures to patients while performing the study
  • Perform abdominal, obstetrical/gynecology, pelvic, breast, transvaginal, transrectal, chest, face, neck, brain, small parts, extremity, Doppler, pediatric, or other studies as requested by the referring physicians and as instructed by the physician in charge
  • Operate complex ultrasound equipment device after appropriate orientation and select appropriate transducer and frequency
  • Efficiently operate ancillary devices such as image acquisition, computers, RIS and PACS to obtain permanent records of information
  • Responsible for sending images to PACS, confirming that images are attached to the correct patient exam, and verifying the exam
  • Must be able to recognize all structures on the ultrasound monitor, determine the anatomy as normal or abnormal and, if abnormal, be able to delineate the abnormality and extend the scope of the study appropriately
  • Assist in the quality assurance program of testing the ultrasound equipment and reporting problems to the Medical Director and the evaluation of new products and equipment
  • Will regularly clean probes and exam bed with an approved disinfecting agent to prevent contamination to other patients and staff
  • Will maintain room and equipment in a neat and orderly manner by cleaning equipment and storing all necessary equipment/supplies in an appropriate location
  • Will ensure work area is properly stocked with necessary supplies
  • Remain compliant with continuing education requirements of CMRITO
  • Assist in the training of new sonographers, students, and staff, as required
  • Be a pleasant and excellent communicator with patients, other staff, referring and reporting physicians


BASIC QUALIFICATIONS:

  • Successful completion of recognized course in diagnostic ultrasound
  • Registered CMRITO with Liability Insurance
  • Must be competent and efficient in abdominal, obstetrical and transvaginal scanning
  • Experience in Doppler and vascular ultrasound an asset
  • Experience in MSK ultrasound an asset
  • FMF Canada NT certified or willing to acquire certification
  • Proven ability to attend work on a regular basis
  • Satisfactory criminal reference check
  • Demonstrate current malpractice coverage
  • Letter of reference from ultrasound employer or instructor/preceptor
  • Demonstrated ability with above average written skills, including good grammar, composition and spelling
  • Evidence of strong organizational skills with the ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines is essential
  • Must have excellent interpersonal skills with demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, courteously and tactfully with all types of people
  • Demonstrated ability to maintain confidentiality
  • Current CPR certification


PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:

The applicant must be able to meet the physical requirements of the position, which include:

  • Required to scan for long periods of time
  • Required to sit for long periods of time
  • Assist patients on to, and around, exam bed
